Call for Applications – “Tafahum” project
As of October 2019, CARPO – Center for Applied Research in Partnership with the Orient is seeking a Researcher/Project Coordinator for its project “Tafahum – Security Roadmap for West Asia and the Arabian Peninsula”.
“Tafahum” was launched in September 2018 in cooperation with the Gulf Research Center Foundation. It pursues the overall objective of developing an “understanding” (or tafahum) among regional stakeholders for a roadmap towards regional security in West Asia and the Arabian Peninsula (WAAP) – a region that includes the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Iran, Iraq and Yemen. The activities of this project entail a series of multilateral workshops, numerous working papers, publications and policy briefings. Starting 15th October / 1st November 2019, this appointment will be for a 24 months period with prospects for an extension of the contract beyond this period. This is a 70% part-time position remunerated according to German public salaries (TVÖD 13) with prospects of increasing the position to 100%, subject to further funding. The applicant is expected to reside in or close to Bonn.
