CARPO brings together a network of highly skilled researchers with specialized expertise in the countries of West Asia and North Africa (WANA). We have established strong connections with regional researchers and academic institutions, offering in-depth knowledge across a broad range of relevant fields. Through our active participation in international workshops and conferences, our researchers both contribute to and shape the global academic discourse in and on the region. We facilitate academic exchange and knowledge transfer between scholars in the WANA region and Europe by organizing conferences, workshops, and collaborative initiatives. In addition, CARPO supports joint publication efforts through dedicated working sessions, fostering cross-regional collaboration and advancing research on key topics.
CARPO’s consultancy services provide in-depth analysis and strategic guidance on social, economic, and political dynamics across the WANA region. With over a decade of institutional expertise and more than 20 years of experience among our team, we support policymakers, businesses, and organizations by delivering insights into current and emerging trends. Our services include continuous monitoring of developments in key countries such as those of the GCC states, Yemen, Iran and Iraq; analysis of geopolitical shifts and their impact on relevant markets; and expert-led briefings on topics from security to socio-economic transformations. CARPO also offers intercultural training and preparatory courses for clients with assignments abroad, using interactive briefings, written reports, and access to a vast network of regional experts to ensure thorough, tailored support.
CARPO believes that sustainable people-to-people relations are essential for strengthening ties within the WANA region as well as between the region and Europe. By creating platforms for meaningful exchanges, we open doors for political, intercultural, and inter-societal dialogue. Citizen-driven development—particularly in conflict-prone areas—can only be effectively supported by engaging communities and empowering them to shape the future of their countries. CARPO therefore designs exchange projects that connect influential actors, including policymakers, academics, intellectuals, artists, religious leaders, musicians, and activists, from diverse countries and regions. These initiatives aim to identify common grounds for cooperation and foster deeper understanding and collaboration.
