Thomas Pietzsch joined CARPO in 2016. As Head of Finance, he oversees financial planning, reporting and audits. He also manages CARPO’s administrative, IT and website operations. Prior to joining CARPO, he worked as project assistant for the DAAD-funded project on ‘Academic Approaches to Peacebuilding and State Building in Yemen’ at the Institute of Oriental and Asian Studies of the University of Bonn.
Thomas holds a Master’s degree in Asian Studies, specializing in Islamic Studies/Iranian Studies, from the University of Bonn (2022), with a thesis on the Islamic environmental protection debate in Iran. Thomas is a trained bookseller and combines his passion for books with his expertise in financial administration in his work at CARPO.
