CARPO Briefs
by Sebastian Sons and Sina Winkel
The impacts of climate change are increasingly threatening national energy infrastructure, environmental protection, energy production and supply chains in West Asia and the Arabian Peninsula (WAAP). These developments pose serious challenges to regional stability and social cohesion. This CARPO Brief outlines how regional cooperation on extreme weather events can be initiated and strengthened. It introduces concrete entry points to enhance collaboration, including the establishment of a regional extreme weather task force to coordinate emergency responses, a regional disaster relief fund to support affected communities, and a hub for excellence to promote knowledge-sharing and best practices across the region.
